By creating an account and using Merq Vault, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them — they're written in plain English on purpose.

Who We Are

Merq Vault is a personal finance tracking application operated by Merq Software, a sole proprietorship based in Texas, United States. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to Merq Software. References to "you" refer to the person using the application.

What Merq Vault Is

Merq Vault is a personal finance tracking tool. It helps you record and visualize your budget, spending, bills, debts, net worth, and savings goals based on information you manually enter.

Not financial advice. Merq Vault is not a financial advisor, investment advisor, tax advisor, or any kind of licensed financial professional. Nothing in the app — including budget summaries, spending observations, monthly recaps, or any other feature — constitutes financial advice. All information displayed is based solely on data you enter. Always consult a qualified financial professional before making financial decisions.

Your Account

To use Merq Vault you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

Free Trial and Subscription

Merq Vault offers a 3-month free trial with no credit card required and no automatic charges. After your trial period:

During the trial, receipt storage is limited to 50 receipts. Paid plans include unlimited receipt storage.

Shared Finances (Partner Access)

Merq Vault allows you to invite one partner to share your financial data. By sending or accepting a partner invite:

You own your data. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose other than operating the service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

You can export your transaction history at any time as a CSV file from within the app. You may request full account deletion by contacting legal@getmerq.com.

Merq Vault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the app running reliably, but we cannot guarantee:

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Merq Software's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Merq Vault shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Texas.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
